As the only Sub-Zero Premier Partner serving Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, sometimes we come across something from the company that we think is worthwhile sharing.
We saw this quick recipe for these delicious little appetizers and thought immediately that we need to share this. Although this recipe was developed exclusively for the Wolf Convection Steam oven, we think you could easily make them with a conventional oven.
With this recipe from Sub-Zero Wolf, you can whip up a batch of tasty hors d’oeuvres for a crowd in no time with minimal hassle.
Here you go.
Ingredients:
1 (17.3 ounces) box puff pastry sheets
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
3 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
What to do:
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (1 ounce) Place one sheet of puff pastry on a cutting board, brush the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle oregano, thyme, and parmesan cheese to taste over the oil.
Gently cover the pastry sheet and herbs with the second layer of puff pastry. Press down the top sheet very lightly.
Slice pastry into 1/2 “ strips with a pastry or pizza cutter. Twist the strips while maintaining the integrity of the filling. Line a pan with parchment paper and lay the prepared strips on the paper 1” apart.
Let pastry stand about 15 minutes before placing in the oven.
For the Wolf Convection Oven, slide pan onto oven rack (position # 1). Set oven to recipes (R1). Hit the “ok” button. When oven chimes, remove the pan. Cut the appetizers into thirds and serve warm. For an even bigger serving, use two racks at rack positions 1 and 3.
For non-Wolf convection ovens, although we haven’t tried this and the suggestion is based on another recipe, we suggest setting your oven to 400 degrees and baking for around 10-12 minutes. But watch them so they don’t overbake.
That’s it.
Watch the smiles of delight as you make a huge impression on your guests with these classic hors d’oeuvres. And you will be smiling, too, knowing the secret to your success took so little time and effort to produce such high-quality appetizers.
