This kit can reduce the sound of your ice machine by 50-75%+
In this example, the reduction was from as high as 70 db (same as a hairdryer or vacuum cleaner) to 55-60 db (same as electric fan) – which is a 75%+ reduction.
While the ice machine will still have ambient noise, this kit can significantly reduce noise of the appliance (particularly during ice production / harvesting)

Yes, the Technician will clearly explain how the light operates and proper use and care.
Vyv’s antimicrobial light is UV-Free and has no exposure limits or concerns per required testing to international photobiological safety standards.
Vyv’s antimicrobial light is not in the UV spectrum rather utilizes wavelengths in the visible light portion of the spectrum (400-420nm). If any lights suggest protection, stickers are placed on the product indicating protection should be used before viewing.
The ice machine cleanings use chemicals designed to remove calcification and other growth in hard to reach areas that, left untreated, can damage functional components and reduce the lifespan of the product.
The anti-bacterial light, on the other hand, specifically targets bacterial, fungi and viral growth and provides continuous killing* action.
Using these together will make the unit cleaner and ensure you do what’s needed to maximize the lifespan of the product.
While every manufacturer’s warranty is unique, this product does not interact with any electrical or mechanical function on the ice machine, thus it should not interfere with your product’s warranty. Specific questions about warranties can be directed to the manufacturer.
The anti-bacterial light is designed to last for many years. It carries C&W’s standard warranty of one (1) year for parts and three (3) months for service.
Yes, the anti-bacterial light is an accessory and can be moved, removed or placed inside another machine.
We suggest contacting C&W or an experienced Technician to prevent damage.
The anti-bacterial light uses an independent power source (e.g., wall outlet plug).
The sound proofing feature set only uses FDA approved (BPA-free) materials. The electrical components are each UL Certified. The anti-bacterial kit is EPA registered.
The product takes ~30-60 minutes to install based upon installation environment and electrical availability.

The C&W Ice Machine Anti-Bacterial Kit kills* viruses, bacteria, fungi, yeasts, & mold, creating a cleaner environment for your ice.
*Testing on a non-enveloped virus (MS2 bacteriophage) showed a 97.12% reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 8 hours on hard surfaces. Testing on SARS-CoV-2 (enveloped virus) showed a 98.45% reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 4 hours on hard surfaces. Testing on MRSA and E. coli showed 90%+ reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 24 hours on hard surfaces. Results may vary depending on the amount of light that is reaching the surfaces in the space where the product is installed and the length of time of exposure. Use of Vyv antimicrobial light is not intended to replace manual cleaning and disinfection practices.
Yes, the Vyv anti-microbial light will clean the entire bin (as long as the light has exposure to the surface).
Using a combination of the FDA-approved (BPA-free) mat and the noise reduction panels can reduce the sound by up to ~75%. This is achieved during the ice harvesting mode. While this kit does not completely silence the ice machine, the kit significantly reduces sound during harvesting as well as the sound level during the normal operation (ambient noise) of the appliance.

This product was conceptualized, designed and tested in a joint initiative between the University of Texas – Dallas Capstone Engineering Design Team and C&W Appliance Service and relies on the tried and testing technology of Vyv, Inc.
