Sub-Zero is a luxury appliance brand that is highly regarded for its innovative and stylish refrigeration and cooking products.
As a Sub-Zero Premier Partner and the only authorized Sub-Zero Partner in Dallas Fort-Worth, Austin, San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country, C&W Appliance Service is uniquely positioned to provide customers with the highest level of service and expertise when it comes to Sub-Zero products. As C&W celebrates its 65th anniversary in business in 2023, we would like to remind you about some important information about Sub-Zero products’ Sabbath Mode and Star-K compliance.
Sabbath Mode is a feature that is available on most Sub-Zero and Wolf products with electronic control panels. This mode is designed to allow those who observe the Sabbath to use their appliances without breaking any religious laws.
When Sabbath Mode is activated, the ice maker system and door alarm are turned off, and they cannot be turned on again until Sabbath Mode is exited. Depending on the model, the interior lights may turn off or go into a constant dim setting for the duration of the Sabbath Mode.
To enter or exit Sabbath Mode on a Sub-Zero unit, refer to the model-specific instructions provided by Sub-Zero. It is important to note that some Sub-Zero products may require a Sabbath Mode kit to be Star-K compliant. Star-K compliance is necessary for those who follow Orthodox Jewish law, as it requires strict adherence to certain guidelines.
Sub-Zero offers a range of products that are Star-K compliant, including Classic (BI) Series, Designer (IT, IC, ID) Series, PRO 36 and PRO 48, 648PRO, Designer Undercounter (DEU) Refrigeration and Wine Storage, Undercounter Wine (UW), and UC 24. These products have Sabbath Mode as a standard feature and do not require a kit. Other Sub-Zero products, such as the 400 Series Wine Storage, 600 Series, and 700 Series, have Sabbath Mode but require a Sabbath Mode accessory kit to be Star-K compliant.
If you need to install a Sabbath Mode kit on your Sub-Zero appliance, it is recommended that you have it installed by a service technician. C&W Appliance Service’s factory-certified technicians are available to provide installation services for Sub-Zero products in the Dallas Fort-Worth, Austin, San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country areas.
It is essential to note that not all Sub-Zero products have Sabbath Mode available. Products that do not have Sabbath Mode include but are not limited to the 500 Series and UC-15I Undercounter Ice Makers.
