A professional technician can and will ensure that your outdoor grill is working properly so no unexpected problems occur when it’s time to ignite!
1. Reduce Risky Grease Fires
Grease buildup can be easily removed by a professional, from the grill to the inner parts of the grill. The technician will rapidly remove the necessary parts to ensure your grill is safe and operational.
2. Healthier Food
A grill that is free of leftover char is important to keep carcinogens out of your food. Build up and charred meat is not healthy when cooked over time and time again.
3. Tastier Food
Take the unwanted taste out of your food by keeping the grill free of past cooked food. Having your outdoor grill in pristine condition will allow your current flavors of your food to dominate.
Useful Cleaning Tips and Procedures for Your Outdoor Grill
Clean Burner Grates After Each Use
While the grates are still hot, scrub with a grill brush and water. The steam created will loosen food particles on the briquettes and drip tray. Do not clean the burner grate section while in place over the infrared sear burner. Liquid should not come in contact with the sear burner. Clean out the drip tray and wipe clean.
Remove Rust from Grill Grates
To remove rust on grill grates, follow the cleaning recommendations below depending on your cleaning preference.
Vinegar and Salt
- Mix 2 cups vinegar and 1 cup salt.
- Place grill grates in a large plastic bag.
- Cover the grates with solution, tie bag shut, and soak for 8 hours.
- Wipe off rust with a cloth.
- Rinse with water.
- Dry thoroughly.
Baking Soda
- Brush grill grates with a soft brush to remove most of the rust.
- Put the grate on the grill and sprinkle it with baking soda.
- Turn on the grill to allow the baking soda to bubble and remove the rust.
- Turn off the grill and let it cool.
- Brush racks again with a soft brush.
Stainless Steel Cover and Panels
- After the grill has cooled, use a nonabrasive stainless steel cleaner and apply with a soft lint-free cloth.
- To bring out the natural luster gently wipe the surface with a water-dampened microfiber cloth followed by a dry polishing chamois.
- Always follow the grain of stainless steel. Baked-on residue can be removed using a mild abrasive pad with stainless steel cleaner. Do not use steel wool.
Grill Interior
- Turn all grill burners on HI (including sear, but not rotisserie burner). Allow the grill to heat for 10–12 minutes with the hood closed.
- Turn burners OFF and allow the grill to cool completely. Remove burner grates and briquette trays. Remove briquette trays and wipe clean
Always refer to your Sub-Zero outdoor grill owner’s manual for specific instructions for your make and model.
You should clean your outdoor grill after each use, and a deep cleaning every 6 months. Deep cleaning would include disassembling and inspecting the parts. By not maintaining it and keeping it clean you will notice that food will start to taste funny and past flavors will taint your food.
